The story begins with Manuel Armando Pereira, President of the Board of Directors at Cordex, and a small company named SOFIOS, a producer of cotton packing twines and other fibres in the early 1960s. As business started to grow, SOFIOS began to produce sisal ropes and twines. To compete against some of the larger manufacturers, Manuel Armando knew he had to make some strategic partnerships and merged with another local company. Thus begins the history of the establishment of Cordex Companhia Industrial Textil S.A. |
